Relaxing drink………

Review for The Dog House

The Dog House is the former Red Lion pub which has been totally transformed into a very smart and relaxing bar to have a drink and meet up with friends. You enter into the spacious bar area which features a modern curved bar, wooden flooring with high stools and tables which give The Dog House an urban chic contemporary feel. It has large screen plasma TV showing the latest news or sports but it did not intrude into a relaxing after-work drink.
Arriving in The Dog House at around 6pm on a Friday evening, friendly staff make you feel most welcome. The bar was not too busy, with several people enjoying the surroundings and it most certainly wasn’t empty.
The location of The Dog House is also excellent, just a few metres away from the river at St George’s, close to a large multi-storey car par and a new Premier Inn. It is a short walk from here into the city centre with all the amenities Norwich has to offer.
There are a good range of spirits, wines, lagers and real ales from the barrel – Adnams and Abbott Ale were on offer – quite unexpected in a modern bar, so you can see that they are trying to cater for all tastes.
Finally, a beautiful wooden staircase takes you to the first floor function room called The Kennel where you can book for a party. They offer a good choice of food and can cater for up to 70 people.
