Chill Out In The City Centre

Review for The Lamb

The Lamb Inn just off the Haymarket in Norwich is a great and sometimes hidden retreat right in the heart of the city of Norwich. It has a large courtyard at the entrance which caters for drinkers and diners. There are lots of tables which are mainly undercover so if the weather is a little bit inclement, you can still stay dry, this is obviously also great for smokers.
The Lamb Inn is a very spacious bar which is spread over two floors. The first thing we noticed was the fact that they have opened out the ground floor as there used to be a raised area near the bar area, this has now gone and makes for more table space which we liked.
Going upstairs they have gone for a relaxing reading room look with pseudo book cases and curtains. it sounds odd, but it works really well and makes for intimate little corners where you can have a drink, a bite to eat or just relax. There is plenty of seating available for diners and drinkers. We were pleased to see that it hasn’t been all converted to eating space.
Anyway, onto the food. The menu has not changed since the refurbishment, The Lamb Inn is still part of the same group. It offers a good selection of strarters, mains, side, desserts plus sandwiches. Thee is quite an extensive wine list and the bar serves a good selection of beer on tap and bottle plus the usual selection of spirits. Waitress service is available for diners which is a nice touch and food is of a good standard. Sevice is good with staff being friendly and helpful.
We are pleased to say we can still recommend The Lamb Innif you are looking for a central place for a drink, meal or chilling out.
